Hi, You didn't provide much information about your problem...
"What kind of file is this?" Please at least provide a hint. Are you exporting a .scribe file? (that is not a video file. it is a work file for saving your work locally or sharing your work to other devices.)
Watch the tutorial videos for basic instructions about how to use videoscribe: videoscribe version 2 tutorial videos and pdf If you want to render a playable video file, render your scribe as a WMV, MOV or FLV. (rendering video is discussed in the first video)
If your scribe will not render for some reason, check the instant answers TROUBLESHOOTING section or search the community section for threads about similar problems.
