How do i play voiceover&music first, before I add my images?

I have recorded my voiceover myself.
I have also chose my background music.
The problem Im having is playing both all the way to the end (my voiceover is just over 1minute long) so I can add my images to sync with the voiceover.
However, a message pops up saying I need to add my images to the canvas FIRST before it will play my voiceover/music.
Is there any way I can play my voiceover/music all the way to the end and so i can sync the images with my voiceover? I want my timing to be perfect thats all.
