Is there a way to keep an drawing on the screen and have text disappear so that new text can appear?
Example: I have a person pointing at a board with a statement on it. I am trying to have that statement go away and a new statement show up without redrawing the the guy pointing at the board.

You can place or draw any white image or SVG over the text to make it disappear (assuming that the white image will fit over the other image and assuming your background color is also white).
I think there is a limit to how many images you can stack on the same spot before you start to get visible glitches though.
