VOICEOVER MIC

  • I am having problems selecting the input device for my new voiceover. I do not want to use the standard BUILT IN mic in the iMac (as good as it is). I have plugged my Rode SmartLav into the iMac and it registers fine. I just cannot select it in VideoScribe.

  • Hi Andrew,

Thanks for contacting us and sorry this is not working for you.

If your Mac recognises the Mic, this should be picked up by VideoScribe.

Can you ensure that you have saved your work in VideoScribe and try restarting it (whilst your mic is plugged in), after doing this, is the Mic now recognised?

From what I can gather, you are using a USB port to connect your SmartLav to your Mac (As there are no mic inputs on most Macs nowadays)?

If, so are you able to try a different mic with that USB port and do you get the same issue?

We use a XLR Mic here using an Icicle adapter that is powered via USB and this is recognised when we select it.

I also checked a Microsoft LifeChat LX-3000 is recognised (after restarting VideoScribe).
